STATE CONSTITUTES PANEL TO SET UP LATA MANGESHKAR MUSIC COLLEGE | 17 March, 2022

The Maharashtra state government has set up a six-member core committee, headed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar, to oversee the setting up of the Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar International College of Music and Museum in Bombay at the Kalina campus of Bombay University at a budget of Rs. 100 crore. The other members of the committee are Usha Mangeshkar, Adinath Mangeshkar, Shivkumar Sharma, Mayuresh Pai (coordinator) and the Director, Directorate of Culture.

A study committee for the College had been set up earlier. The core committee will hold discussions with the study committee and go through its recommendations. It will then present a report to the government at the earliest. Five acres of land in the Kalina campus have already been identified for the college. The land parcel will be handed over to the Directorate of College to oversee its setting up.
