SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT DEATH CASE: IMPORTANT UPDATES | 30 September, 2020

A panel of forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, allegedly found no presence of organic poison or toxic chemicals in the late star’s viscera sample. The CBI had sought the help of the AIIMS on medico-legal aspects in its probe related to the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. An initial chemical analysis of the viscera conducted at the behest of the Bombay Police at a Bombay city forensic science laboratory had also ruled out the presence of any poisonous or toxic chemical, ruling out any foul play in the death.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) told the Bombay high court on 29th September that the case in which Rhea Chakraborty, her brother, Showik, and two employees of late Sushant Singh Rajput were arrested, has only a “small connection with the actor’s death”. The submission was made during the bail hearing of the four and an alleged drug distributor. The hearing lasted yesterday (29th September) for almost seven hours. Justice Sarang Kotwal reserved his judgement.

Twenty-five officials from the Bombay office of the NCB have tested positive for COVID-19, of which 20 have been sent to home quarantine, officials announced on 29th September. Additional officials from Bangalore, Indore and Ahmedabad have been called to join the Bollywood drugs investigation.

If reports are to be believed, the NCB has almost given clean chits to the A-list actresses who were called for interrogation in the drugs mafia case. These include Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan.
