MUSIC SHOP OWNER DEAD | 29 June, 2019

Govind Bhargava, the founder of Bhar­gava’s Musik, Bombay, passed away on 26th June due to cardiac arrest. He was 84. The music shop was the place where musicians in the city used to go for repairing their musical instruments or for buying new musical instruments or their parts. Anup Jalota, Jagjit Singh, Shiv-Hari and Hariharan were customers of Bhargava’s Musik which was started in 1954 by Govind and his brother at Khetwadi in Bom­bay. The shop then moved to Heera Pan­na Mall at Haji Ali and finally to its current location at Bandra.
