Music maestro Khayyam and his wife were admitted one after the other to Sujay Hospital in Bombay. Khayyam’s singer-wife, Jagjit Kaur, and singer Talat Aziz rushed the music director to Sujay Hospital on 28th July for influenza A and bilateral pneumonia. He was put on non-invasive ventilation. After a few days, his wife, too, fell sick and was rushed to the same hospital with hypoglycaemia (low sugar) and chest infection. While the 93-year-old music composer was expected to take long to recover, his wife was to be discharged soon as her condition was not serious.
