SANTOSH KUMAR TENDERS APOLOGY TO ADITYA DHAR | 14 May, 2026

Santosh Kumar, who had alleged that Aditya Dhar had plagiarised his story in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, tendered an apology in court following which the interim application of Dhar in the Bombay high court was disposed of. Santosh Kumar gave an undertaking to the court that he would refrain from making defamatory statements like calling Aditya Dhar chor/thief in future.

In light of the apology, Aditya Dhar told the court that he did not wish to precipitate the suit for damages. He accepted the apology and submitted that the suit could now be accordingly disposed of. Dhar had filed the suit against Santosh Kumar for his allegations.

It may be recalled that the Bombay high court on April 8 passed an interim order restraining Santosh Kumar from repeating his allegation that filmmaker Aditya Dhar had stolen the script of Dhurandhar from him. Dhar moved the court, claiming that Kumar’s allegations were defamatory and damaged his reputation.

While passing an interim order, Justice Arif Doctor noted that Dhar made a prima facie case for the grant of such relief.

“Until the next date, the defendant (Santosh Kumar) shall be restrained from repeating words and remarks set out in the suit and all other allegations of a similar nature,” the HC had said. As per the suit, Santosh Kumar made the allegations after release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026), sequel to Dhurandhar (2025), accusing Aditya Dhar of copying his registered script titled ‘D Saheb’.
