Producers of TV serials and broadcasters have agreed to pay the cast and crew within 30 days instead of 90 days at present. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) and the Indian Film and TV Producers’ Council (IFTVPC) had been insisting that producers of TV serials and broadcasters provide COVID-19 insurance to cast and crew members — Rs. 25 lakh in case of death, and Rs. 2 lakh for hospitalisation. Producers and broadcasters have finally agreed.
After these points were agreed upon on 25th June, shootings of TV serials resumed. Of course, the strength of units has come down drastically in view of the SOPs for shootings, making it difficult for costume dramas, mythologicals and historicals to be shot as a large number of unit members are required to shoot such serials.
