Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd.’s Chhota Bheem Kung Fu Dhamaka (animation) is based on the story of Chhota Bheem who goes to China to take part in the emperor’s annual martial arts competition. Accompanying Chhota Bheem are his friends from Dholakpur, viz. Chutki, Raju, Jaggu, Kalia, Dholu and Bholu.
Even as the competition is underway, the emperor’s nephew, Zuhu, who is an evil part-demon, returns to the kingdom after being banished, with the intention of kidnapping Princess Kia, daughter of the emperor. Chhota Bheem gives Zuhu chase to save Kia but Zuhu disappears with Kia.
Bheem, his friends, the local people and the emperor now join forces to bring Kia back. Bheem also frees other locals who had been held captive by Zuhu.
Rajiv Chilaka’s script is good for kids but because it is an animation film, it has its limitations for the Indian audiences who don’t fancy animation films. The drama is engaging in parts. Dialogues are okay.
Animation is of a good standard. Rajiv Chilaka’s direction is nice as he caters well enough to the kiddie audience. Music is okay. Background music is so-so. Editing is reasonably sharp. Voice acting is good.
On the whole, Chhota Bheem Kung Fu Dhamaka is an ordinary fare and will appeal to kids only. It may pick up in the weekend but not dramatically. Its English dubbed version of the same name has also opened simultaneously.
Released on 10-5-’19 at Inox (3D; in daily 3 shows) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Yash Raj Films Distributors. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
