ALL EYES ON EID RELEASE ‘SIKANDAR’

The week that went by was uneventful. All eyes are now on Eid release SIKANDAR which hits the screens tomorrow (Sunday, March 30).

L2: Empuraan (dubbed) opened on Thursday (March 27) to poor houses and amidst dull public response.

Tumko Meri Kasam proved to be a debacle at the box-office in 1st week all over. It could not collect even Rs. 75 lakh in the first week!

Pintu Ki Pappi bombed miserably in the first week all over. Its net collection total was barely Rs. 50 lakh!

Baida met with a disastrous fate in 1st week all over.

Snow White (dubbed and the original English versions) did very ordinary business in the first week all over. It netted only Rs. 3.50 crore in the first week.

The Diplomat fell almost 50% in 2nd week, which was not a happy sign as the first week itself was average. The second weekend started with a take of only Rs. 1.27 crore. Collections on Saturday and Sunday were Rs. 2.52 crore and Rs. 2.74 crore respectively. In this way, the second weekend closed at Rs. 6.53 crore. Collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 1.10 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.05 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.02 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.98 crore. Therefore, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 4.15 crore. In this way, the total for 2nd week was Rs. 10.68 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 30.13 crore.

Chhaava netted around Rs. 12.90 crore in 6th week. Grand total for 6 weeks: Rs. 372.40 crore. If one were to consider the block bookings and free distribution of tickets, the total for 6 weeks (after considering the block bookings) was Rs. 507.40 crore.

Hardik Shubhechcha (Marathi) fared poorly in 1st week all over Maharashtra.

Follower (Marathi) did not have too many followers at the ticket windows in the first week in Maharashtra.

Bhera (Marathi) bombed in 1st week in Maharashtra.

RD (Marathi) could not do anything worthwhile in the first week all over Maharashtra.

Nayan (Marathi) failed to make a mark in 1st week all over Maharashtra.

Gaav Bolavato (Marathi) did very poor business in the first week in Maharashtra.
