The Aligarh Muslim University has issued guidelines for shooting in its premises. Film producers will have to pay Rs. 1 lakh per day of shooting while producers of web series would be required to pay half that amount. The final script and synopsis will need to be shown to the AMU’s expert committee before permission to shoot is granted. Further, the AMU cannot be identified as a fictitious location either directly or indirectly in the film unless a written permission to this effect is obtained from the University authorities.
Producer Shoaib Choudhary called the guidelines “hilarious”. He had recently complained that the AMU was not permitting him to shoot some part of his web series based on AMU founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, on its premises. He alleged “sabotage”.
