DISHA SALIAN DEPRESSED DUE TO MISUSE OF MONEY BY DAD: CLOSURE REPORT | 29 March, 2025

The Bombay police’s closure report in the Disha Salian death case had termed it a suicide and had asserted that she was battling depression due to multiple reasons including misuse of her money by her father. Disha worked as actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager for a brief period.

According to the police, she allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the 12th floor of her building in Jalkalyan Nagar at Malad in Bombay on June 8, 2020.

The closure report was submitted on February 4, 2021. As part of their investigations, the police recorded statements of Disha’s friends and some witnesses, during which it emerged that she was depressed due to some failed projects, misunderstandings with friends and misuse of her money by her father. The police had also recorded statements of actors with whom Disha was communicating on behalf of the company she worked for.

It may be mentioned here that after the case got entangled in an acrimonious tussle between political parties, the police set up a special investigation team; its report is still awaited. Just a few days back, Disha’s father, Satish Salian, moved the Bombay high court, seeking a fresh probe into her death. He claimed that his daughter had been raped and murdered.
