The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has found no major money transfers from the account of Sushant Singh Rajput to the account of his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty. The ED is probing the money laundering case against Rhea after his father, K.K. Singh, registered a complaint in Bihar, alleging that Rs. 15 crore had been transferred from his son’s account to suspect accounts. It has so far been established by the ED that of the Rs. 15 crore, Rs. 2.7 crore was paid by the actor towards his taxes. Sushant had committed suicide by hanging himself at his flat on 14th June.
Another hitherto unknown point which has come to the notice of the ED is that the EMI payments for the flat in which Sushant’s ex-girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande, lives, were being made by Sushant. It is believed that the flat in ‘B’ wing of Interface Heights Co-operative Housing Society, off Link Road, behind Infiniti Mall, Malad (West) in Bombay is in the name of Sushant but is still being occupied by Ankita. Sushant and Ankita parted ways in 2016. The ED is likely to summon Ankita too to interrogate her. It may be recalled that after Sushant’s death, Ankita had created a hue and cry about Rhea’s suspect behaviour while she was his girlfriend, hinting at financial irregularities by her, but she never once admitted that the EMI payments for the flat occupied by her were being made from the actor’s account even after 2016. Meanwhile, Ankita has tweeted her bank statements from 1st January, 2019 to 1st March, 2020, to prove that she had been paying the EMIs. But there is no mention of the period from 2016 to 2018.
