In a first for the Indian film industry, the Indian Post will honour the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) with a special cover and stamp to celebrate the Foundation’s 10th anniversary and its decade-long mission to save India’s cinematic legacy. The special foil and embossed cover, featuring a Rs. 5 stamp, will be unveiled at the General Post Office (GPO) in Bombay on June 14 in the presence of chief post master general of Maharashtra and other notable guests. The stamp showcases an illustration of filmmaker and archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur alongside other FHF conservators whose job is to rescue film reels.
The limited edition special cover will be available at the Philately Bureau at the GPO in Bombay.
