VISHAL BHARDWAJ ELECTED MCAI PRESIDENT: MCAI PAYS HOMAGE TO MAESTRO MADAN MOHAN ON 100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY | 20 January, 2024

Vishal Bhardwaj was unanimously elected president of the Music Composers Association of India (MCAI) at its annual general meeting on 19th January at The Club in Bombay. Indrajit Sharma ‘Tubby’ was elected general secretary while Vipin Mishra was elected treasurer.

The new executive committee also consists of Ram Sampath, Salim-Sulaiman, Raju Singh, Rahul Ranade, Justin-Uday, Julius Packiam, Pandit Somesh Mathur, Tapas Relia, Santosh Nair, Rahul B. Seth and Sargam Jassu. The new committee was announced by FWICE chairman B.N. Tiwari.

On the occasion, the MCAI paid homage to late music maestro Madan Mohan on his 100th birth anniversary. His sons, Sanjeev Kohli and Sameer Kohli, shared interesting incidents related to the veteran. Anand-Milind, Ismail Darbar, Uttam Singh, Dilip Sen, Kuldeep Singh, Sangeeta Pant and around 150 other music directors were present in the meeting.

Music director Ashok Patki was honoured for his unmatched achievements.

Indrajit Sharma ‘Tubby’ expressed gratitude to general manager Raviraj Pranami for his administration of the MCAI. Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia blessed all the music composers present and wished the MCAI success under the inspiring leadership of Vishal Bhardwaj.
