Film publicist and author Dhirendra Jain passed away on the night of 31st July in Raipur due to brain haemorrhage. He was 58 and is survived by his mother, a brother and three sisters. His wife had expired many years ago. They had no children. Dhirendra used to do film promotion work in partnership with Anoop Srivastava.
It is a coincidence that Dhirendra, who used to almost worship Mohd. Rafi, left for his heavenly abode on the same day as the singer had in 1980. At the time of his demise, Dhirendra was writing a book on music maestro Khayyam. He had also written books on Mohd. Rafi and folk singer of Chhattisgarh, Teejan Bai.
