Actress and Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan shot back on 11th October and told people who criticised her for taking part in Durga Puja celebrations in Calcutta last week that she was God’s special child and added that she considered herself to be God’s messenger for spreading communal harmony.
A Muslim cleric in Uttar Pradesh had slammed Nusrat last week for attending Puja celebrations and for sporting sindooron the Ashtami day. Nusrat explained that she had been a part of the festival for years and that she was not doing anything different this year. She added that probably, the cameras were more focused on her this time.
