Mittal Advertising And Distribution’s Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad (UA) is the story of India’s freedom fighter, Chandra Shekhar Azad.
Rajesh Mittal has written the story of Chandra Shekhar Azad but the style is not of the kind which would hold the audience’s interest. His screenplay is also not very inspiring. A few scenes do have the patriotic flavour but that’s not enough. Rajesh Mittal’s dialogues are routine.
Hemendra Singh is ordinary in the title role. Pushpa Verma is okay as his mother. In the role of his father, Anil Dhawan does a fair job. Rishabh Raj lends ordinary support as Bhagat Singh. Anil Nagrath (as the judge), Pooja Kushwaha, Brownie Parasher, Arun Mathur, Urvashi, Sukhpal Sidhu, Chandan Kashyap, Ranjit Bihari, Rajesh Kumar Sahu and others lend routine support.
Rajesh Mittal’s direction is not upto the mark. His narration fails to engage the viewers. Music (Dinesh Arjuna and Vakil Babu) and lyrics (Naiyer Jaunpuri, N. Upadhyay and Rajesh Mittal) are commonplace. Song picturisations (by Bhoopi, Rajesh Mittal and Praveen) are not upto the mark. Camerawork (Ramu Yadav and Ashok Chakravorti) is average. Vimal Anand Nag’s action and stunt scenes are not half as thrilling as they should’ve been. Sets (K. Pappu and Nirmala Paul) are okay. Amrendra Gaud’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad is a flop show.
