This week’s GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI may have been a slow starter in the morning shows on the first day (yesterday, February 25) but considering that it is a woman-centric film with no hero (Ajay Devgan is in a guest appearance), the film did very well as collections picked up from the afternoon shows.
Before You Die bombed miserably everywhere in the first week.
Pyar Mein Thoda Twist fared miserably in the first week all over.
Uncharted (dubbed and original English version) did fair business in 1st week.
Badhaai Do started the second week with a take of Rs. 0.75 crore on the first day. Collections doubled to Rs. 1.50 crore on Saturday. They increased to Rs. 2 crore on Sunday, taking the second weekend’s total to Rs. 4.25 crore. Collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 0.55 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.50 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.45 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.40 crore. Total for the weekdays was, therefore, Rs. 1.90 crore. Hence the second week’s total was Rs. 6.15 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 18.20 crore.
Pawankhind (Marathi) did exceptionally well in the first week all over Maharashtra. It is poised to be a hit.
Jiddari (Marathi) fared poorly in the first week all over Maharashtra.
This week’s JABARIYA JODI opened to dull houses. Shows in ‘B’ class centres had to be cancelled at some places due to lack of audience.
Khandaani Shafakhana fared miserably in the first week. It opened to poor houses and managed only Rs. 0.75 crore on the first day. Collections increased marginally on Saturday (Rs. 0.85 crore). Even the usual jump in collections on Sunday did not help as the day closed at just Rs. 1.20 crore. After a weekend of Rs. 2.80 crore, collections on the weekdays were pathetic: Monday – Rs. 0.30 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.30 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.25 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.20 crore. By netting Rs. 1.05 crore in the weekdays, the film took its total for the first week to Rs. 3.85 crore.
Chase – No Mercy To Crime was mauled mercilessly by the public at the turnstiles. It collected poorly in the first week.
Fast & Furious: Hobbs And Shaw (dubbed) and the English original of the same name started off wonderfully but collections fell markedly during the weekdays. Yet, it managed a very impressive first week. It netted Rs. 11.25 crore on Friday. Collections on the second and third days were Rs. 12.10 crore and Rs. 14.65 crore respectively. In this way, its first weekend concluded at Rs. 38 crore. Collections during the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 5 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 4.25 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 3.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 3 crore. By netting Rs. 15.75 crore in the weekdays, it took its total for the first week to Rs. 53.75 crore.
Judgementall Hai Kya fell 75% in its second week. The film collected Rs. 0.90 crore on the first day of the second weekend. Collections on Saturday and Sunday were Rs. 1.55 crore and Rs. 1.90 crore respectively. The second weekend, therefore, ended at Rs. 4.35 crore. It added Rs. 1.85 crore in the weekdays, taking its total for the second week to Rs. 6.20 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 33.05 crore.
The Lion King (animation; dubbed) and the original English version of the same name continued to do well in 3rd week also, netting Rs. 17.05 crore. Its third weekend started at Rs. 1.90 crore. Collections jumped markedly on Saturday (Rs. 4.35 crore) and even more on Sunday (Rs. 6 crore). Therefore, it collected Rs. 12.25 crore in the third weekend. Collections during the weekdays: Monday – Rs. 1.50 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.15 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.10 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.05 crore. In other words, the film netted Rs. 4.80 crore in the weekdays. Its total for the third week was, therefore, Rs. 17.05 crore. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 142.72 crore.
Super 30 added Rs. 9.55 crore to its kitty in 4th week. The film, which is SGST-free in many states, netted Rs. 1 crore on the first day of the fourth weekend, Rs. 2.25 crore on the second day, and Rs. 3.25 crore on the third day. Hence, it collected Rs. 6.50 crore in the fourth weekend. It collected Rs. 3.05 crore in the weekdays. Therefore, its total for the fourth week was Rs. 9.55 crore. Grand total for 4 weeks: Rs. 139.42 crore.

Chasani (Gujarati) did well in the third week too in Gujarat and Saurashtra.
All the new releases of this week, including GAME CHANGER (Hindi dubbed) and FATEH, disappointed as far as initials were concerned. The reports of the films are not exciting enough to warrant a huge jump in collections.
Kraven The Hunter (dubbed and the original English versions) could not do much after a dull start on January 1 (Wednesday). In fact, collections crashed after the first two days. Following a total collection of Rs. 0.80 crore for the first two days, it netted only Rs. 0.90 crore in the first week. Grand total for 9 days: Rs. 1.70 crore.
Pyar Mein Qurban met with a disastrous fate in 1st week all over.
The Rabbit House proved to be a non-starter in the first week. It collected very poorly all through the week.
Baby John nose-dived in the second week. It netted barely Rs. 2.60 crore in 2nd week. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 34.60 crore. It is out of almost all the cinemas.
Marco (dubbed) was rock-steady in its third week. Rather, it collected slightly better in 3rd week than in its second week. It netted Rs. 4.75 crore in 3rd week, taking its grand total for 3 weeks to Rs. 9.57 crore.
Mufasa: The Lion King (animation; dubbed and the original English versions) dropped more than 70% in 3rd week. It netted approximately Rs. 12.75 crore in the third week. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 117.75 crore.
Pushpa: The Rule Part 2 (Hindi dubbed) did fairly well in the fifth week too in spite of a noticeable drop. It netted Rs. 2.50 crore on the first day of the fifth weekend. Collections on Saturday and Sunday were Rs. 4 crore and Rs. 4.75 crore respectively, taking the fifth weekend total to Rs. 11.25 crore. Collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 1.95 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.60 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.45 crore. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 6.50 crore. Hence the total for 5th week was Rs. 17.75 crore. Grand total for 5 weeks: Rs. 750 crore.
Moana 2 (animation; dubbed and the original English versions) is in its last lap. In its sixth week, it netted around Rs. 0.60 crore, taking its grand total for 6 weeks to Rs. 28.95 crore.
Mukkam Post Bombilwadi (Marathi) did average business in the first week in Maharashtra.
Fast & Furious 9: The Fast Saga (English and dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu) did well in the first week. The Hindi dubbed version scored better in the 8-day week but the original English version was not upto the mark mainly because the pirated version of the original film was available in India since a few weeks. Even otherwise, the film was not liked as much as the earlier films in the franchise. The first week’s total for all the versions was approximately Rs. 12 crore.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (English and dubbed versions) did very well in the first week. It netted Rs. 2.97 crore on the first day. Collections on Saturday and Sunday increased to Rs. 3.33 crore and Rs. 4.31 crore respectively, giving a first weekend figure of Rs. 10.61 crore. Collections on the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 1.53 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.22 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.06 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.86 crore. In this way, the total for the four weekdays was Rs. 4.67 crore. Grand total for week 1: Rs. 15.28 crore. Considering that cinemas in Maharashtra are still closed and also considering that there are restrictions on capacities and number of shows in other states due to the Coronavirus lockdown, the figure of Rs. 15.28 crore in the first week is very promising. The original English version of the film has done better than the original English version of F9.
Bell Bottom could manage to net only about Rs. 4 crore in the third week. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 32 crore.
Chal Mera Putt 2 (Punjabi) continued its victory march in the second week too. In East Punjab circuit, it netted Rs. 44.93 lakh on the first day. Collections increased by 50% on Saturday which, therefore, closed at Rs. 66.55 lakh. Sunday saw a huge jump so that the total figure for the day was more than double that of Friday. With a total of Rs. 95.86 lakh on Sunday, the second weekend collected Rs. 2.07 crore. Collections on the weekdays: Monday – Rs. 40.51 lakh, Tuesday – Rs. 34.72 lakh, Wednesday – Rs. 29.68 lakh, Thursday – Rs. 26.76 lakh. Hence the film netted Rs. 1.32 crore. The total for the entire second week was, therefore Rs. 3.39 crore. The collections in the second week from the rest of India was Rs. 20 lakh. In other words, the all-India total for week 2 was Rs. 3.59 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 10.41 crore.
