Punjabi actor-activist Deep Sidhu, who died in a road accident in Sonepat district (Haryana) on 15th February, was cremated in Ludhiana on 16th. Meanwhile, the police have ruled out any conspiracy theory in his death.
The Sonepat police said that based on the statements of doctors who conducted the post-mortem and Deep Sidhu’s co-passenger, it appeared to be a case of rash and negligent driving.
Based on the complaint by Sidhu’s brother, an FIR under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 (causing death by negligence) of the IPC has been registered.
