‘KHATRA (DANGEROUS)’ REVIEW | 9 December, 2022

Company’s Khatra (Dangerous) (A) is a film about a lesbian couple.

Rashmi (Apsara Rani) and Nalini (Naina Ganguly) have had bad experiences with men and in due course, end up falling passionately in love with each other. Together, they chalk out a plan to steal from Nalini’s husband who is himself a gangster.

The story is routine and the screenplay is just an excuse to titillate the audience. Dialogues have shock value at places.

Apsara Rani is okay as Rashmi. Naina Ganguly does a fair job as Nalini. Rajpal Yadav lends average support. Mithun Purandare is alright. Gordhan Singh and Palak Singh are adequate.

Ram Gopal Varma’s direction and narrative style are aimed at appealing to the viewers’ baser instincts. Paul Praveen’s music passes muster. Siddu Somisetti’s camerawork is quite alright. Editing (Manish Thakur) leaves something to be desired.

On the whole, Khatra (Dangerous) is a non-starter in spite of having sex as its main selling point.

Released on 9-12-’22 at Maratha Mandir (daily 1 show) and another cinema of Bombay thru Zeus Films India. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
