‘PREMAATUR’ REVIEW | 3 September, 2021

Released this week in Delhi-U.P., Anugrah Entertainment’s Premaatur (UA) is a horror love story. Rahul (Sriraj Singh) and Soniya (Kalyani Kumari) love each other. They meet Arjun (Prashant Walde) and Pooja (Heta Shah). Soon, Arjun starts doing strange things. Before long, it is clear that Soniya has been possessed by a ghost. Whose ghost is it? What does Rahul do to save Soniya and rid her of the spirit?

Prashant Walde has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film. The story is oft-repeated and so is the screenplay. There isn’t even a hint of novelty in the drama which even otherwise is so half-baked that it fails to involve the viewers. The horror scenes hardly scare the audience. Dialogues are outright routine.

Sriraj Singh is ordinary as Rahul. Kalyani Kumari does an average job in the role of Soniya. Prashant Walde passes muster as Arjun. Heta Shah is routine as Pooja. Shantanu Ghosh, Amit Sinha, Veer Singh and Bidya Kumari lend ordinary support.

Sumit Sagar’s direction is weak. The narration fails to hold the viewers’ interest. Nitin Raikwar’s music and lyrics are fair. Vivek Sharma’s choreography is barely functional. Arsalan Sheikh’s background music is below the mark. Pappu Singh Rajput’s camerawork is dull. Rajiv Sharma’s art direction is not of a good standard. Gurjent Singh’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Premaatur is a weak fare which will meet with a poor fate at the turnstiles.
