The Bombay high court on February 1 adjourned the hearing of the pre-arrest bail plea filed by actress Rakhi Sawant due to paucity of time. The oral statement, which had been extended on January 24 by additional public prosecutor S.V. Gavand till February 1, will continue till the hearing today (February 3). Gavand had told the court that no coercive action would be taken against Rakhi nor would she be arrested till the next date. The case relates to an allegedly objectionable video of actress and model Sherlyn Chopra, which Rakhi used in a public event.
Rakhi Sawant had recently filed the anticipatory bail plea in the high court, saying that the trial court had erred in granting her no relief. The matter was listed before a single judge bench of Justice M.S. Karnik on February 1.
