Act Planet Productions, Zatpat Film Productions and Filmastra Studios’ Dhishkyaoon (Marathi; A) is a romantic comedy.
A father (Suresh Vishwakarma) is concerned about his son’s (Prathamesh Parab) sexual orientation. How he spies on his son and what happens ultimately is what the film is all about.
Sanjay Navgire has penned a story and screenplay, which are interesting in parts only. It becomes evident that there is a concerted effort to create comedy. While some funny scenes evoke laughter, others fall flat on their face. Romance is not very heart-warming. Sanjay Navgire’s dialogues are alright. The double-meaning dialogues are not as funny as they ought to have been.
Prathamesh Parab performs ably. Megha Shinde is average. Ahamad Deshmukh is okay. Suresh Vishwakarma makes his presence felt with a fine performance. Sandeep Pathak makes his mark. Siddheshwar Zadbuke is adequate. Pranav Pimpalkar, Shiv Mane, Asavari Nitin, Sakshi Tonde, Madhu Kulkarni, Mahesh Ghag and Prasad Khaire provide ordinary support.
Pritam SK Patil’s direction is just about fair. Sanmit Waghmare and Shreyas Deshpande’s music is so-so. Lyrics are ordinary. Abhinay Jagtap’s background music is okay. Yogesh Koli’s camerawork is fair. Art direction (Dilip Khandare, Anand Sathe and Yogesh Ingle) is average. Saumitra Dharsurkar’s editing should’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Dhishkyaoon is a flop show.
Released on 10-2-’23 at Jai Hind Mukta A2 (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay by Filmastra Studios. Publicity: so-so. Opening: poor.
